What makes a set wispy

A wispy set has two layers. The base is a soft, even row of lashes. Then longer spikes are placed at intervals through it, so the top line of the set is uneven in a deliberate way. Up close you see points and feathering instead of one smooth edge.

That texture is the appeal. It photographs well, it moves, and it looks a little undone.

Natural and wispy is a real option

Wispy does not automatically mean dramatic. Jean has posted exactly that combination: natural and wispy, done as an express set. Keep the base light and the spikes only a little longer than the rest, and you get texture without the volume.

Go the other way, with a fuller base and taller spikes, and it reads as a statement set.

Wispy with color

Spikes are a good place to put color, because they already stand out from the base. A few blue or purple spikes through a black set is one way in. See color lashes for what that looks like.

FAQ

Wispy questions.

Can a wispy set look natural?

Yes. Natural and wispy is a combination Jean has done and posted. A light base with spikes only slightly longer keeps the texture and skips the drama.

What is the difference between wispy and hybrid?

Hybrid is about what the set is made of, classic lashes plus volume fans. Wispy is about the shape, longer spikes over a shorter base. A set can be both.

Do the spikes need more upkeep?

No more than any other set. Come back every two to three weeks and we replace what has grown out, spikes included.
