Taught in person, on purpose
Jean teaches her classes face to face in the Whiplash studio on N 8th St. In her words: “It's almost like school, not just a class. Very hands on, guided big time during every milestone.”
Her advice to anyone starting out is the same whether you learn here or somewhere else. Begin with an in-person class, and learn from an instructor who has been lashing for at least five years.
Guided practice, at your pace
The classes are built around practice in the studio with Jean there. She has written that there is lots of guided practice, and that it moves at each person's own pace, so you are not rushed past something you have not got yet.
Whiplash has been open since 2018, and Jean lashes clients every week. What she teaches is what she does at the table.
